MCO has just returned from performing in Yackandandah. There can’t be many places with a greater can-do community spirit than Yack, a town with a population of around 700 which has its own volunteer arts organisation, Arts Yackandandah, owns its own petrol station and built and manages its own sports complex.
We performed our Trinitas program in the recently re-built Yackandandah Public Hall for an enthusiastic audience of locals; the orchestra also held masterclasses for local young people before the concert.
Apart from being filled with wonderful people, Yack is also very pretty and historic; it’s definitely worth a visit. A big thanks to Arts Yackandandah for inviting us, we hope we’ll be back!
