Due to the current COVID-19 restriction levels for Victoria, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra are no longer able to perform the “Re: Classical” projects as planned. The Orchestra extends its thanks to audiences for their forbearance at this difficult time. Patrons with tickets will be contacted by the ticketing agent with their options.

MCO’s next orchestral performances are “Vivaldi’s Four Seasons” in late July/early August.

While still in his teens, Mozart was appointed concertmaster in the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg’s orchestra. It was during this appointment, in 1775, that he penned all five of his violin concertos. The fourth concerto is an effervescent favourite of violinists and audiences, infused with Mozart’s effortless operatic sense of melody. To perform it, we are joined by violinist Sophie Rowell.

MCO continues its survey of Haydn’s extraordinary symphonic legacy with a rare performance of his dramatic Symphony No 52, which we’ve nicknamed The Grandfather.
