A Feast of Music 2018 – Daylesford Chamber Music Festival

Now in its sixth year, MCO’s delightful and delicious Sunday of music and food in Daylesford continues. Enjoy up to five musical events across three days, including an orchestral concert and musical dinner at Lake House. Numbers are strictly limited.

 

ARPEGGIONE (14 SEPTEMBER, FRI 6:00pm)

Anglican Church

Two canonic works from the late Classical period, Schubert’s Sonata for Arpeggione and Beethoven’s third sonata for cello and piano, form a superb opening to the 2018 Festival.

Daylesford Town Hall

Vaughan-Williams’ unique and picturesque sound world is on full display in his Phantasy Quintet from 1912. It is performed here with Mozart’s joyous late masterpiece, the fifth quintet in D.

Amy Beach’s big-hearted, imaginative Trio reveals one of the finest voices of American Romanticism. The majestic Archduke trio of Beethoven brings the Festival to a climactic conclusion.
